In a fast pace world, where we expect to get the latest news at the touch of a button, push a number and our phone automatically dials a number, or jump on the internet to see how our friends are doing, it is hard to remember what patience is. Patience is not an easy skill, and like most things in life, it takes work. But sometimes it takes more work than others. When you are sitting in a valley, you realize that it takes patience to make it to the top of the mountain, and sometimes patience is hard to find because the task ahead is daunting. Patience is also tough when you are waiting on someone else. With the great unknown of others’ feelings or actions, patience is not a trait that is easy to keep.
We must learn to have patience when dealing with others, for everyone faces great battles that are unknown to us. It takes time to make it up the mountain to be able to continue where you last left off, and by reacting too quickly and not allowing for patience, you may hurt a situation. On the contrary, a simple request for time can help one be patient and prevent the starvation.
Learn patience, however hard it may be, and continue to hope.
